Keep your shirts on folks!

The local National Weather Service (NWS) office here in Green Bay has issued a special weather statement about the cold weather for Sunday (tomorrow). I can guarantee you that if there was NOT a game tomorrow, this statement wouldn't exist. Today was colder than tomorrow is forecasted, but no special weather statement like this for today. Note the suggestions on layering and avoiding alcoholic beverages. ;-)

BROWN- INCLUDING THE CITY OF...GREEN BAY 523 PM CST SAT JAN 19 2008

...COLD WEATHER EXPECTED SUNDAY...

AN ARCTIC AIRMASS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT GREEN BAY AND NORTHEAST WISCONSIN ON SUNDAY. MORNING LOW TEMPERATURES WILL REACH NEAR 17 BELOW ZERO IN GREEN BAY...WITH WIND CHILLS AS COLD AS 35 BELOW.

SUNNY SKIES DURING THE DAY WILL ONLY HELP A LITTLE. AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL REACH NEAR 3 ABOVE. A WEST WIND OF 10 MPH WILL PRODUCE LATE AFTERNOON WIND CHILLS OF 10 TO 15 BELOW.

IF YOU HAVE PLANS TO BE OUTSIDE SUNDAY...MAKE SURE YOU ARE DRESSED FOR THE WEATHER. SEVERAL LAYERS OF LIGHT CLOTHING PROVIDE MORE WARMTH THAN A SINGLE HEAVY LAYER. BE SURE TO WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES OR MITTENS. AVOID ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES...THEY CAUSE THE BODY TO LOSE HEAT MORE RAPIDLY.

Exposed skin freezes in like 15-20 minutes in that weather. But I'm most certain there's gonna be a bunch of guys with their shirts off. You can bet on it.
